In this post, you’re going to know why I keep my blog a secret from my family, relatives, and friends
Blogging could be unknown to many people. People may laugh at you if you say that you are a blogger.
But in my opinion, Blogging is a silent killer and a great way to connect with like-minded people and
Of course, a great way to earn passive income.
In this post, I’m going to share a different side of my blogging journey that I haven’t discussed yet.
Stay tuned…
A Little Story of Mine
Back in 2015, when I was in college, I decided to start a blog. But that time, I had no clue where to start.
I didn’t have money to buy a domain & hosting. So I started with a free blogging platform which was Blogger.com.
Thanks to Google! (Blogger.com is a product of Google).
Initially, I had no sense of writing that’s why I never told my college friends. Because I didn’t want to make fun of myself.
This is the first reason, why I kept my BLOG a secret from my family and friends.
But Later, I learned a lot.
And guess what? Nothing happened.
I failed too early… so bad! (But it helped me understand what mistakes I was making)
So the next time when I started my blog again, I knew the right way of doing things.
FINANCE
Well, the second reason why I kept my BLOG a secret is the “finance”. I was not financially stable. My father’s pay was only $600 a month.
And I didn’t want to ask my father to pay my bills. (Because he could not afford to pay extra bills. That’s why I chose to start with BLOGGER.COM. )
CAREER
I belong to a conservative background. My parents believed that only a “job” is a way to earn a living and was good for a career.
He didn’t know what blogging was. And it was quite difficult to convince my family. It was really challenging.
And even if I tried, they would have convinced me to quit blogging. And maybe I would have been working in a company.
I didn’t want to face it. So I kept my blog a secret from my family.
LACK OF Belief
I myself hadn’t heard the word “blogging” before starting it. Because I was new to blogging. And I didn’t believe I would be able to do it.
Because of the lack of faith, there was a fear of failure. This inspired me not to reveal my blogging secret to my friends and family.
EARNINGS
I still remembered when I got approval for AdSense and made my first $0.01.
And you won’t believe me it took me almost 3 years to get my first payment from AdSense which was only $109.
Nevertheless, it made me happy. It was not a good amount, so I did not disclose my earnings to anyone. Because I was making disproportionately little money that a delivery boy can earn in just 7 days.
It was also one of the reasons why I kept my blog a secret from my family, relatives, and friends.
CONCLUSION
All my family & friends don’t know the value of blogging. That’s why I didn’t convince them about blogging.
And I still kept it a secret from my relatives but not from my family.
Here I’ve successfully discussed why I kept my BLOG a secret from my family, relatives, and friends.
