This tool has now become one of the famous ad campaign tools among the advertisers. It gives various ad campaign group or keyword ideas and helps the advertisers to create the optimal ad campaigns.
After creating the account, you can create an ad campaign. If you are not an advertiser, then you can ignore it.

Now, keyword planner shows you three methods for collecting the keyword data.
1. Search for new keywords using a phrase, website or categories
2. Get search volume data and trends
3. Multiply keyword lists to get new keywords
2nd option is for collecting the data for known keywords. It is not helpful for the bloggers. It could be beneficial if you already have a list of keywords and want to extract the data for the previously listed keyword.
Similarly, the 3rd method is used to compare the two or more existing keyword lists.
Now let me discuss the first method.
#1. Search for new keyword using a phrase, website or categories
It is the well-known method used by bloggers/advertisers to find some keyword ideas. Keyword brainstorming is the primary focus of writing a blog post. If you want keyword suggestion, then it could help you collect a set of keywords along with all the keyword matrices like CPC, search volume and competition level.
When should you use this method?
If you’re confused what to write about, then you should use this option. For example- If you are going to write about “SEO”. But don’t know what to write exactly. Then you can put this term into the search bar and click the ‘Get ideas’ button. This tool shows you tons of keywords related to your word. You can select a set of keywords that fit your blog niche.
There are some other options to narrow down your keyword ideas. You can customise your search by limiting the competition level [high, middle, low], CPC and average monthly searches.
Note: – Remember that keyword difficulty and competition level both are different things. Keyword difficulty shows the challenge to rank a keyword in the top position of the google. On the other hand ‘competition level in keyword planner tool’ shows that how many advertisers are bidding for a particular keyword.
You can also limit your keyword ideas by choosing the suitable search engine, country, language that fits your business or website.
