I know it feels good scrolling Instagram feed before going to bed. In fact, I used to enjoy it in the same way.

However, there is nothing wrong with this but in research, it’s been found that the average person spends a total of 6 hours and 55 minutes looking at a screen each day (for internet-connected activities).

You are wasting 1/3th of your day doing nothing and it’s making you unproductive and lazy. But imagine if you could utilize this time to get something better.

That said, I’m going to share 10 things you can do in the evening to help make your life easier.

So let’s dive right into it…

1. Have a Talk With Your Partner

Whether you have been dating, getting married, or in a relationship for years, having a 30-minute talk in the evening can rehab your relationship. You can say thanks to your partner for being with you. You can ask what makes your partner happy and what doesn’t.

You can plan your next morning, make a monthly budget, or go for a walk. You can do whatever makes you feel connected and help strengthen your relationship.

If you don’t do it, you or your partner feel alone and misjudged and this misunderstanding turns into negative feelings which worsen your relationship.

2. Read Books

Are you striving for productivity? then try reading books. It’s a missing ingredient in your routine life that can help strengthen your brain and build a strong vocabulary.  Moreover, it can help you to be more productive and stress-free.

You can decide to read 10 -50 pages every day. It won’t take more than 2 hours and is better than scrolling Instagram feeds.

By adding this to your daily routine, you may improve your life and enlighten your thought process which can help you improve the quality of your life.

3. Listen to a Podcast

Listening to a podcast is a great option If you hate reading books. You can go to https://tunein.com/podcasts/ or Amazon Audible and look for your favorite podcast you want to listen to.

4. Write a Little

Writing brings you creativity and improves your thoughts. Oftentimes, I used to make little notes of my actual thoughts that help me figure out the level of negativity in my head. Or sometimes I end come up with some great ideas for my next blog post.

Benefits –

  1. It improves my writing skills
  2. It Improves cognitive thinking
  3. Self-improvement
  4. Ability to share your ideas

5. Make a to-do list

A to-do list can help you organize your daily tasks. You can write down everything you need to do the next day.

This can help you set priorities and avoid getting overwhelmed and get done what matters most. Doing this, you know what you have to do first thing tomorrow morning.

Benefits of making a to-do list

  1. Helps you prioritize
  2. Keeps you organized
  3. Makes you feel accomplished

6. Play Chess

Chess has long been associated with intelligence, but many people think of it as a game for geeks and geniuses. However, a recent study found that the game could actually improve your overall cognitive abilities, especially among kids.

Chess teaches you how to think logically, analyze situations, solve problems, make decisions, and communicate effectively. These skills are transferable to many aspects of life including academics, sports, relationships, and work. Chess helps develop self-confidence because it requires you to overcome obstacles and challenges while working towards achieving goals. You must learn to take risks, evaluate outcomes, and adapt to changing circumstances.

Chess is played around the world, and many experts believe that it helps prevent Alzheimer’s disease. This is because the game involves planning ahead, strategizing, problem-solving, and making decisions based on logic. These activities activate different parts of the brain, improving mental agility and sharpening our ability to learn.

7 Work On A Side Hustle –

You can work on a side hustle. YES! instead of scrolling through the Instagram reel in the evening, you can start working on your next project.

You will be amazed at how much more productive you are when you have an idea and you’re ready to get started. It not only improves your living standard but also builds income streams over time.

Investing 1-2 hours daily can build a side hustle in 3- 4 months and allow you to earn extra income which you can use to develop more skills to improve your life.

Benefits –

  • Helps you save money for future goals
  • Allows you to spend quality time with family & friends
