I have been using it since September 2015 but I did not find any detrimental activity on my server.

So it’s pretty good. However you can secure your server by using some premium security packages Like SSL Certificate, Backups of your Hard work to make a recovery, HackAlert Security.

But for these additional security features, You need to pay more.

At present, I am using SiteLock security Fix Plan to keep me away from any malware attack and also recently moved to HTTPS for better user experience.

Additionally, you can now connect let’s encrypt SSL certificate for free from your HostGator billing portal to your active domain.

For Security, I want to give it 4.5 Stars.

Compensation:

Hostgator shared hosting has powerful hardware machine that can handle more than 3 sites without any server issue.  

It’s good for those who want to run more than one blog on a single server.  I want to give 3.5 Stars. (For better performance, I recommend that you don’t use more than 3 blogs on a single server. )

Support:

Hostgator support team serve me well. They always ready to serve their customers.

When I started my blogging career I faced many technical issues but HostGator’s team helps me at every step.

Believe it or not, Once my site was hacked. But it got back again after 2 hours.

Why?

Because of the HostGator support.
